In early 2014 an awesome journey began.  God spoke into the hearts of two local pastors, Chad Hammons and Ed Webbon, and urged them to lead their respective churches into an incredible adventure of joining their stories together to form a brand new church.  After much prayer, diligent research, serious discussions, various meetings with leadership, congregations, and other ministers, the path was clear. On March 1st 2015 Ignite Church was launched in Bay City, TX with 364 people in attendance.  

From the beginning Ignite Church has had the philosophy that church should be a safe place to come as you are and encounter Jesus with a friendly atmosphere, engaging worship, and Biblical teaching. 

Ed and Chad have since retired, and James King continues the story of what he lovingly refers to as “the land of misfit toys.” We are a group of broken and messed up, yet healed and redeemed people who are eager to make much of our King, Jesus.
